Coconut Station in Rowland Heights, CA

One Friday, a coworker suggested Baimon or Diamond Palace for lunch!  A friend had told me that Coconut Station is the best Thai place in the area, so I recommended that we go there instead of Baimon.  Coconut Station is underrated and less-known than the other Thai restaurants because it’s on Nogales Street kind of in the middle between Colima and the 60 freeway.  It isn’t in a plaza with a lot of other restaurants, so you wouldn’t be as likely to stumble across it.  I have now eaten here 3 times, and the food, service, and atmosphere have been great each time.  It’s never crowded either!

Each dish comes with a salad!  Lettuce, sliced green apples, strawberries, and pineapples!  The dressing is kind of sweet and tangy.

I wanted to try something new, so I got the Pad Wen Sen for $8.25.  It’s pan-fried glass noodles with a mix of cabbage, broccoli, carrots, and tomatoes, onions, eggs, black sweet soy sauce, and shrimp!  It also came with chicken, which was a nice surprise!  The noodles were a little too chewy and the vegetables too crisp for my liking, but my stomach was nicely satisfied.
