Wanting to eat something different at Garden Cafe instead of the usual fried rice or fried noodles, I got the spicy beef ramen with the kurobuta soup! There are three options for the soup base- miso, soy sauce, or kurobuta (pork bone). I wasn’t sure if it would be any good since Garden Cafe is Cantonese and not Japanese, but it was ok! The ramen was served in a large bowl, and it was very flavorful. The noodles had the right texture, and the toppings included a hard-boiled egg, sliced bamboo, seaweed, and sesame seeds. The only complaint I have about this dish is the beef. It’s the same beef used for the beef stew, but it’s cooked in a spicy sauce. There was also too much beef. I got tired of eating it. Or maybe I was just too full to enjoy it.
